Standard 60 minutes session is $160.00 – Extended 90 minutes session is $230.00
Payable by cash or internet banking on the day of the appointment. Overdue payment will incur a late fee of $20 per week.
Cancellation within 24 hours of your appointment time will incur half the session fee. Non-attendance with no cancellation notice will incur a full session fee.
At our first session, we will take some time to establish rapport, and understand your problem. We will complete assessments / measurements and set some goals for therapy. We can also address any questions concerning confidentiality, fees and scheduling.
The number of counselling sessions needed varies based on individual circumstances, such as the nature of concerns and personal goals. Some may find relief in a few sessions, while others may need longer-term support. It’s best to discuss with your counsellor to determine what works best for you. A brief intervention is considered up to six sessions.
The research suggests we should meet weekly or fortnightly for the first few sessions, then we can have three or four weeks between appointments if necessary. Essentially that decision in up to you.
Yes, you can bring Whānau / family member for support.
Yes, counselling is private and confidential, with counsellors bound by ethical and legal obligations by the New Zealand Association of Counsellors to maintain confidentiality, except in specific circumstances required by law.
No, there is no set minimum number of counselling sessions. The number of sessions needed varies dependent on the individual circumstances, such as a nature of the concerns and personal goals.
